I've been kinda feeling sick the last few days. And I finally feel better today. Got to doing things that have been on my to do list for ages. So I feel really at peace today. Also haven't really told you much about my dog Yuki, whom has been in my life for seven months now. She's been so much more than I expected her to be. The Akita breed is known for its dominance and difficulty in training. But everything is smooth sailing with her. And I couldn't imagine life without her. Do you own a pet? I'm curious, tell me in the comments below!

LONDON DAYS

So I went on a little mini vacation with my good friend Eline. I've been wanting to go to England for quite a while. Since I am obsessed with the culture. Because of the sudden surprise of my friend being pregnant we couldn't go in late august as we initially had planned. Her belly would be too big by then and she couldn't keep up with my enthusiastic running around. So we went for a shorter vacation as I could get three days off from work.

We had so much fun! We kinda planned to go shopping on day one and went sight seeing on day 2. Shopping in London is heaven! I bought SO MUCH stuff. I couldn't be more satisfied.

People say it's always raining in England. But the second day was REALLY sunny. Eline actually turned red. Our first stop of the day was the London Eye.

We didn't actually got in it because Eline is pregnant and afraid of heights. I also didn't hear allot of great things about it. People say the view isn't that spectacular and the price is too expensive.

BIG BEN! Okay, the Big Ben was soooo pretty! the golden details where amazing. It really is a must-see when you go to London.

Okay so maybe some of you already know that I am a huge Doctor Who lover. Or as it's called: a Whovian. If you know the series you also know that The Doctor travels through time and space in a police telephone box from the 60's. It so happens to be that one of those Telephone boxes is still located in London. Ofcourse I had to go and visit.... (it is located next to the underground railway station at Earls Court)

I really loved London and I certainly will be visiting again!

January music faves

Ok, so I've been binge-watching HBO's Girls lately. And am loving the soundtrack. I kind of like the idea of sharing the songs that I listen to the most at the moment. And maybe continue doing this every month. Let me know what songs you enjoy the most this month! Here are my January fave's:

Introducing you all to Yuki

(@kaayleeighh) op

I am so happy to announce the soon arrival of my new buddy. A while back my mom brought a dog home that she needed to babysit that afternoon. It was a Japanese Akita Inu. And we immediately fell in love with it. My dad couldn't stop talking about that he liked the breed and that it would be great to get another dog. I thought he was just horsing around, but yesterday I was awoken rather abrupt by my dad. Saying that we where going to visit a family that had puppys. I couldn't believe that this was happening. And when we got there we all knew straight away which pup we wanted. Because how cheesy it may sound. Yuki was the first of all the puppies to come greet us. We chose the name Yuki because It's Japanese for Snow. And we really wanted a fitting and cute Japanese name. Here are a few pictures of Akita's if you are not familiar with the breed.

They are so cute right?! I have to say even though it sounds like an impulsive thing we did. It is not. Owning a dog is a great responsibility. A dog needs love and care and you are the world to a dog as an owner. Especially with Akita's as they are very intelligent but also have a temper, that with the right care can be great. But if you are not familiar with dogs or owning one. You should really do research before you commit to taking care of one. I can't wait to add Yuki to the family and will be keeping you guys updated.

2014 Summary

2014 was mostly awful and sad. I lost a family member very dear to me. I don't even have words for it. But that doesn't mean I didn't have good moments. Here's a summary of 2014's good times:
 FASHION

2014 was a great year for me and fashion, as I started my blog in July. I actually began blogging just for me. To document my everyday life and clothing for future reference. But soon I found myself in the world of fashion and lifestyle bloggers. I'd like to think I came a long way in that short period of time. One thing I do know is: I still have allot of blogging to do in 2015 and will enjoy every moment of it.

FOOD

I found my love for cooking this past year. I knew I liked cooking, but I actually discovered new recipes and challenged myself to step out of my comfort zone by using ingredients I didn't even knew existed. Here are a few of my favourite recipes of last year: snowball cookies // mexican wraps // easter deviled eggs // frozen almond spiced chai // sweet chilli lime wrap // oven baked home made french fries

CRAFTY

What a creative year it was! I tried out some DIY projects and learned new techniques. Most of last years projects where gifts for others as I love putting smiles on faces. Here are a few of my favourite DIY's: how to paint ceramic mugs // three last minute holiday gift ideas // DIY jewellery display

FRIENDS AND FAMILY

I wouldn't be able to get through 2014 without these people. They are the ones that kept me smiling and strong. I will always think that friends and family go before all else. Because without love there is no life. thank you, all of you.

8 reminders

  •  SPREAD MORE LOVE
There is nothing better than spreading and receiving some love. It makes us and others feel good. I'd like to send more postcards outside of birthdays and holidays. Just to let people know I care about them.

  •  LEARN NEW THINGS
Do you want to learn other languages? Better late than never right? Thought about taking craft classes? You'll never know what it will lead to. There is no limit to learning new things.

  • EXPAND MY HORIZON
our surrounds shape us. I have allot of travelling to do this year. First on the list is London!

  • FEEL BETTER IN MY SKIN
It’s the only place you have to live. But don´t  forget you are not your body, you are your soul. Your exterior won't define your interior. Even though that is true, I want to eat healthier and just take better care of myself.

  •  I CAN READ MORE THAN 20 BOOKS THIS YEAR
Reading to the mind is what exercise is to the body, and I love to read. Last year I made it to reading twenty. And this year I want to set a new goal.

  •  LIVE IN A NEW PLACE
I feel like this is the next step in my life. I really want to move out and get my own place this year.

  •  BE PROUD
Credit where credit is due. Learn to welcome compliments and accept them. This is really difficult for me. And it sucks when I don't appreciate myself enough.

AND MOST IMPORTANT:
I'LL NEVER BE AS YOUNG AS I AM RIGHT NOW

Favorite DIY's // week 45

1- peachy puffs | the londoner
2 -  Elsie's mudroom organisation | abeautifulmess
3 - fabric line built in | abeautifulmess
4 - sweet chilli lime wrap | clarkscondensed

It's save to say that I've had a lot of time off lately. Short school-days and afternoons of fighting boredom. I really LOVE checking out DIY projects and recipes. And actually take on a few. I'm extremely in love with the ClarksCondensed chilli wraps. They have the perfect recipe to recreate the famous McDonalds chicken wrap. I think making this wrap yourself is not only tastier but also healthier. I made these wraps for me and the family and everybody loved it! You should definitely try it out.

Last night was crappy, me and my friends where supposed to go to this Halloween party down town. And I came up with the idea to get dressed up as a group. I bought me some expensive face-paint and set up a little make-up station. When I finished painting my face I continued doodling on my friends face. But I suddenly felt sick. Like REALLY sick. I ran to the bathroom and the 2 plates of that nights chicken jambalaya came bursting out. I felt shitty to put it mildly. Picture this, A puking skeleton with a skeleton friend holding her hair. One of my friends couldn't help but say that I did look a little pale... HA HA very funny. No partying for this pile of bones.
